Dance Expressions provides high quality dance training, including dance etiquette. Proper attire is important to start a good attitude toward dance class discipline. Leotards, tights, dance shoes and hair under control will be required for class participation. 

All Children’s Combination Classes and Wee Ones Scottish Class

ATTIRE: One piece leotard (no fancy tutus) and light pink tights.  
SHOES: Pink leather ballet shoes and Black Tap Shoes (Mary Jane style)  
HAIR: Pulled back from the face and neck. 

Ballet/Pointe Classes Level 1-6

ATTIRE: One piece black leotard and light pink tights. 
SHOES: Pink leather ballet shoes (“split sole” shoes are allowed) 
HAIR: In a secure bun. 

Tap Classes Level 1-6

ATTIRE: Leotard and tan tights.  
DANCEWEAR: Capri length pants or shorts may be worn (dancewear only) 
SHOES: Black Oxford style tap shoes 
HAIR: Pulled back from the face and neck (i.e. Ponytail). 

Jazz Classes Level 1-6

ATTIRE: Leotard and tan or black tights. 
DANCEWEAR: Capri length pants or shorts may be worn. 
SHOES: Black soft jazz shoes

HAIR: Pulled back from the face and neck (i.e. Ponytail). 

Lyrical Classes Level 3-6

ATTIRE: One piece leotard and pink or tan footless tights. 
SHOES: Lyrical sandals (Foot Thong)  
HAIR: Pulled back from the face and neck (i.e. Ponytail or bun). 

Hip Hop Classes

ATTIRE: Comfortable clothes you can move in (workout clothes)

SHOES: CLEAN tennis shoes (please do not use ones that have been outside) 

Core Classes

ATTIRE: Workout wear 

BOYS: 
Black dance pants or shorts and a snug fitting T-shirt. 
Black shoes appropriate for the class attending. 

NOT ALLOWED IN ANY CLASS:

  • T-SHIRTS (except for those listed for boys above)
  • OVERSIZE T-SHIRTS
  • SWEAT SHIRTS
  • BARE MIDRIFF
  • PAJAMA BOTTOMS
  • BAGGY CLOTHING
  • JEANS
  • JACKETS
  • SHORTS (except as appropriate for Dancewear as above)
